Haters Please Move on!

It is so obvious by the age of the two below reviewers that this is typical fort lauderdale dramatic bar wars at its best. Everyone should stop wasting there time trying to put down others and start focusing on raising the standards of the poor quality of night life and culture that exsists in one of Americas prettiest citys. A 20 year old would not know any of the items stated in the reviews below. if you look at the other reviews they have written they have no merit. Please lets grow up!

classy place..

I was there in January. I had dinner in the restaurant twice, I thought the service and the food were both excellent! Very friendly staff. As far as the club is concerned, I was a little disappointed. The drinks were outrageous at 8$. Especially when served in a plastic cup. The bartenders were hot, but full of themselves. The music I thought was excellent! The only problem was it wasn't loud enough. You could still hear everyone talking over the music when you were on the dancefloor. The light system sucked! There wasn't any! I felt like I was at a wedding. Looked as if they ran out of money when it came to the light system. Overall, the place was nice and clean. I would definitely go again.

I will give it 4 stars hoping they work kinks

The place is nice. Not grand but nice. It is an odd layout, but big enough to work. It's an odd looking building too. It seems it is trying to cover all the bases but may have bitten off more than the staff can chew. I just moved to the area. It's always great to see someone sink a but load of money into the gay community. The place has a nice atmosphere and a lot of potential. It seems most other posters here are saying the same thing, I am hoping they are getting the message. YOUR STAFF SUCKS! I don't like going to a restaurant thats pricey and be waited on by snotty waiters. Theres no excuse for it. Ive eaten there 4 times. Not ONCE did the waiter get the order right. When told about it, he just laughed and said sorry and kept going. I didnt get some things and had to have it taken off the bill at the end because he never stopped by to check to see if we got everything. There was no apology. They looked aggrevated that I brought it up. There is no manager to be found. Because if there were I would have expected him to be checking the tables hisself to make sure everyone is happy. We sat down at one of the empty tables along the sidewalk. There were a few so, hey, no problem, right? You'd have thought we ran off without paying. This completely through the staff into a tizzy. The maitre'd was not at his station so we sat. (he was gorgeous) There was confusion through the rest of the meal because of this. So unorganized for such a big place. We would have had atleast 2 more rounds of drinks if someone, anyone, would have checked on us. When we finished we went into the dance floor area. The sound system sounded muffled. I do attribute that to it being open to the street and maybe arent able to turn up the base... ok. But the bar was still pretty empty. We stood there while the very pretty, shirtless, bartenders stood there joking and laughing with each other. Not one approached us until we had to flag them over. On a sunny afternoon we stopped in to get some gelato. The fellow looked at us like, you want me to get up? We ordered. He slopped this mostly melted glob into an undersized bowl. Just melting all down the sides. Dripping everwhere before he even handed it to me. He put this thing right in my hand like that. We all looked at each other and couldnt believe what he just did. He took our money and went back to sitting in the corner. Didnt hand me a napkin or acknowledge that there was anything wroong with what he did, or just didnt care one way or the other. What does it take to get a drink here, really? Get your shit together people.

First of all this is not the Abbey. The Abbey has great food and an identity. This place was basically heralded as the second coming of Christ . On all levels it is a complete disappointment. The food is not good , and the service is worse. I waited 45 minutes for my entree and an additional half an hour for wine. Its a restaurant, a sports bar , a gelato bar, a nightclub , a lounge all rolled into one big mess. Its like they looked at every business on Wilton Drive and said let me copy your business. I have been more than once and its the same s$it. The size and scale are impressive and grand. The finishes are cheap at best. Ikea furniture mixed with dollar bathroom tiles, mixed with Home Depot lighting fixtures. Theres nothing wrong with those places, but dont market yourself as an upscale venue with 13 dollar watered down drinks without using quality finishes. The nightclub portion is open to the restaurant so you smell food as you dance. The soundsystem is very muffled. Overall its just strange. Georgies has an identity, Rosies has an identity, this has none. Im not the typical Wilton Manors customer so my expectations may be higher but come off it. Last year when Living Room opened it really brought an upscale element to nightlife. If their attempt was to compete with Living Room they failed miserably. Having been to The Abbey many times I can say that the Abbey feels old and worn. Like its been there all along. The Manor seems like brand new construction trying to look old. If they dont do some quick adjustments I cant imagine it lasting. I for one will not go back.
