Galanga offers a quieter place to eat, even though it is basically just off the main strip. Nice Thai menu with sushi and a few standards added. The food is good, not too expensive and a great place to take a friend to dinner.
Hit or Miss
I am a local and have seen this place change hands more time than Liza changes husbands... It used to be really great around 4 yeras ago and then they went through some major staff changes that really affected the place. Now it has become a straight haven for those looking for a non threatening cool gay experience. Setting is cool - a converted old IHOP restaurant....Nice feel but they really miss it on food and service.,,,, Always off. and for what they charge they should be right on!
Good Thai in a Gay Mecca
I have been to Galanga several times, the last time on a Sunday Night. The ambiance is still nice and the food good. I had the Miso Soup, and Chicken Red Curry, Medium spice, with Brown Rice. The spice was perfect ( I do like it a bit hot) and the taste was very good. There was enough Chicken in the curry and the vegetables were nice and crunchy. I paid like $25 for everything. The service was on time, however this place is known for slower service. My friends were also satisfied with their dishes. I have never had the sushi there for I feel it is not a sushi place.
